Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

This placard was posted in the lavatory on a Cathay Pacific 777. Being diabetic, I usually just carry my stuff around with me and then dispose of them once I get home. Never thought about trying to dispose of one on a plane. That would be easier, though - maybe reduce some harassment by security guards - like those at HKIA!

Easy Transportation?

Check out this rickshaw in Bangkok - I guess it's an easy way to save money and gas on delivery costs, but wow. Hope it's tied down well.

No Pink Bunnies, But Plenty Of Jackasses
Bookstore Seattle, WA, USA
(During Christmas season, our large bookstore gets awfully busy. The phone rings.)

Me: “Hello, this is ***, how can I help you?”
Customer: “Hi, I’m looking for a book.”
Me: “Sure, I can help you out. Do you know the title?”
Customer: “Okay, so the book is about a bunny rabbit and I used to read it when I was a kid. It had a pink cover.”
Me: “…do you know the title, maybe?”
Customer: “Look, I’m very busy and I need this book for my kid. It’s about a bunny and the cover is pink. How many pink bunny books can there possibly be? Go look for it!”
Me: “Sir, we have no option in our search system regarding book covers–”
Customer: “Look. Go f***ing find it. I’m very busy!”
Me: “Sure, let me put you on hold for a little bit.” *click*

(Later, I found out that a customer came in looking for a pink bunny book and a ‘fruity sounding’ bookseller. I’m a girl.)

Friends at Dinner

Friday night, Chad and I met our friend Matthew at Charleston's for dinner. Well, of course we were having a lovely time enjoying our adult beverages when one of the patrons seated behind us walked by. Recgonizing how fun we are, she quickly stopped by and informed us we would be buying her a drink (she had already been well served). We quickly struck up a conversation and found she was a hair dresser who doesn't smoke (see below). I've posted a picture and a couple of quotes from our conversation.

Susan: Here are some cards and some Nicorette gum.

Justin: But we don't smoke.

Susan: Neither do IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

Susan: > Oh look, there's a pole!

Brunch at the Museum Cafe, Revisited

Today, we met Renay and Pauly for brunch at the Museum Cafe (see an earlier post about 3 Jags at brunch). Unbeknownst to us, they have changed their policies and now require a reservation. So, rather than not eat, or try to go somewhere else, we sat at the bar. This turned out to be a glorious idea as the bartender was one of our friends. Needless to say, we had a delightful time, drank lots of champagne, and decided Renay should buy her Lexus.

Returning from Hiatus

Hi again... Many of you have commented about my recent lack of blogging. All I can say is SORRY! I'm back now. Haven't had as much to blog about since I graduated and don't have as much material. Nevertheless, here I am.
